A 28-year-old Stevensville man is dead after the car he was driving was struck by a train on Wednesday.
The Lincoln Township Police Department tells us it happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 5,300 block of St. Joseph Avenue, near the Meijer store.
The driver was westbound on a private drive when he crossed the railroad tracks and his vehicle was hit by the train.
The driver was ejected from the car and taken by ambulance to Corewell Health South hospital in St. Joseph, where he died from his injuries.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
