Some auto dealers in Michigan are having to find other ways to get their paperwork finished on new car sales because of a cyberattack that has affected a software company that supports dealerships.

The hack was first reported at CDK Global on Wednesday. Thad Szott is president of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and told us more.

About half the dealers use this system, this company called CDK, and it’s really our operating system inside the dealership in all facets of the dealership,” Szott said. “So it’s been a pretty big disturbance. We’ve been working diligently over the last two days to finding workarounds, but it’s definitely been an issue inside the dealerships for sure.”

Szott says the issue could last a few more days and that’s why they’re working to find solutions.
