The Southwest Enforcement Team says one man is facing a host of charges following a meth bust in Cass County and in Elkhart, Indiana this week.

SWET says officers on Tuesday conducted a traffic stop on a suspected meth trafficker in Indiana and found a half pound of crystal meth, a loaded gun, and several thousands of dollars in cash in the suspect’s vehicle.

Detectives then served a search warrant at the suspect’s home in the 19,000 block of South Metcalf Court in Cass County’s Mason Township. During that search, they say they found more than a pound of crystal meth, ranging in color from clear to purple to pink to tan.

The 49-year-old suspect was taken to the Elkhart County Jail, and police are seeking additional warrants for both him and his wife in Cass County.

SWET tells anyone who knows someone else with a drug problem to direct themselves to Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health so they can get treatment.
