Stevensville launches parks survey

Residents of Stevensville are invited to fill out a new survey on their ideas for the village’s parks.

Stevensville Village Manager Kacey Dominguez tells us the village recently reestablished its Parks Committee to draft a 2025-2030 Parks Plan. That will enable the village to seek grants for improvements.

Dominguez says the plan will cover all village parks.

We have four village parks,” Dominguez said. “The Hickory Creek Park, which is along Hickory Creek, and then across the street from that is a Jung Nature Trail, which is a walking path. We have a downtown green space, and then there are ten Acres the village owns that were donated…and we’re looking at ideas of what the community would like to see done there.”

Dominguez says input from residents obtained via the survey will be used to craft the Parks Plan, so this is everyone’s chance to make a difference.

Mailers went out about the survey last week, and it can be filled out online. Paper copies can also be picked up at the village hall.

The survey will be available for at least a few weeks and then be reviewed by the Parks Committee as it drafts the new Parks Plan.
