Southwest Michigan election results for Tuesday, May 7

Voters in Southwest Michigan headed to the polls to decide a host of school proposals on Tuesday with mixed results.

In Berrien County, a $98 million bond proposed for St. Joseph Public Schools was rejected on a vote of 3,464 to 2,554.

Meanwhile, a renewal of the Lakeshore Public Schools sinking fund passed by a strong margin.

Two bonds proposed by Coloma Community Schools were rejected by voters.

A bond for Brandywine Community Schools was approved.

In Cass County, an Edwardsburg Public Schools bond proposal was approved.

In Van Buren County, two proposals from Mattawan Schools were approved.

A bond to pay for technology at Bloomingdale Public Schools was narrowly passed, while a bond for building remodeling failed.

Finally, a millage proposed by the Van Buren District Library was approved.
