Former Michigan Governor and current U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was in Michigan this week.

Granholm appeared with Vice President Harris Monday in Detroit and said the state is benefiting from the Biden administration’s push to have more electric vehicles on the roads.

There have been 16 companies that have announced they are expanding or coming to Michigan in the electric vehicle battery space,” Granholm said. “So we were here a few weeks ago to announce a battery workforce initiative, and today we’re here with the vice president to be able to double down on making this area a center of workforce development.”

Granholm says the administration is spending $7.5 billion on the installation of more EV charging stations.
