An exploration into the effects of Artificial Intelligence on daily life, elections, and society will be the focus of a South Haven Speaker Series presentation this month.

The Speaker Series says Western Michigan University communications professor Sue Ellen Christian will speak May 23 all about AI and how we can safely engage it.

Christian has a journalist background and is an author of “Everyday Media Literacy: An Analog Guide for Your Digital Life.” The Speaker Series says it’s an informed guide on media literacy principles and critical thinking in light of the key issues facing society today.

Christian’s goal with this month’s presentation will be to provide a tool set to help people address the complexities of AI-generated social and print media.

The event will start at 7 p.m. on the 23rd at the South Haven Campus of Lake Michigan College, and admission is $10. Students can attend free of charge.
