State Representative Pauline Wendzel’s Southwest Michigan Spirit Tournament has come to an end with the Hartford Huskies as the winners.

The tournament was a bracket style competition for schools around Wendzel’s district to show their spirit by sending in photos.

The final four came down to Hartford, Coloma, Decatur, and Lawton. The final two were Hartford and Decatur, and over the weekend, Wendzel announced that Hartford came out on top. She congratulated the Huskies, saying the “final round matchup between the Decatur Raiders and Hartford Huskies had the anticipation of an exciting championship match.”

The four-week tournament featured 16 high schools and thousands of photos were sent in.

As the champion, Hartford Public Schools will be presented with a brand-new trophy custom made for the tournament and a $500 donation to the school’s department or program of choice. They’ll also get a special tribute from Wendzel’s office.
