Barbara Louise Sweet, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. She was born on January 15, 1934, to Harry and Frieda (Ost) Marceau in Benton Harbor, Michigan. On February 18, 1956, she married Warren Elliot Sweet and they were married for 57 years.
Barbara is survived by her children, Rick Davis, Chris Sweet, Candy Sweet, John Sweet, Keith Sweet, Todd Sweet, Ted Sweet; grandchildren, Aaron Davis, Ashley Lesner, Kyle Sweet, Elliot Danneffel, Morgan Sweet, Thaiden Sweet, Jackson Sweet; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Sweet; and siblings, Harry “Sonny” Marceau, Jr., and Annette Bird.
Barb loved being a mother and grandmother. One of her passions was playing cards. She was a great cook, “every night” dinner was at the dining room table. Her children remember their childhood fondly.
A visitation with Barbara’s family will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel (2650 Niles Rd.) from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Barbara will be laid to rest at Crystal Springs Cemetery. For a more lasting memory, donations in Barbara’s name can be made out to Berrien County Animal Control.
