NFL – Bears QB Justin Fields says he wants to stay in Chicago, and tired of the trade talk
Bears quarterback Justin Fields says he wants to remain in Chicago and is tired of the trade talk surrounding him. Fields made his feelings clear during an episode of the “St. Brown Brothers” podcast that was released on Wednesday. The podcast is hosted by Bears receiver Equanimeous St. Brown and Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown. Fields says “of course” he wants to stay and “can’t see myself playing in another place.” The Bears own the No. 1 pick in the draft and have to decide if they’ll take a quarterback or stick with Fields. Chicago could get a massive haul in return by dealing the top pick.

NFL – Lions retool defensive staff, hire Deshea Townsend, Terrell Williams and Jim O’Neil
The Detroit Lions retooled their staff on defense by hiring Deshea Townsend to coach defensive backs, Terrell Williams to lead the line and Jim O’Neil as an assistant. The Lions made the moves Wednesday, a day after releasing veteran safety Tracy Walker. Detroit drafted Walker in the third round six years ago and cut him with one season left on his $25 million, three-year contract to save $5.5 million in salary cap space. Six assistants from Dan Campbell’s staff last season will not return, including defensive backs coach Brian Duker and defensive line coach John Scott.

NFL – Chicago Bears add Jennifer King as their 1st ever female assistant coach
The Chicago Bears have hired Jennifer King as the first female assistant coach in franchise history. She will be an offensive assistant working with running backs. Coach Matt Eberflus filled out his staff by announcing the final six members Wednesday. Chris Beatty will be the wide receivers coach, Chad Morton will be in charge of running backs with Thomas Brown the offensive passing game coordinator. Jason Houghtaling will be the assistant offensive line coach. Robbie Picazo will be an offensive assistant working with quarterbacks and receivers.
