Market Van Buren is taking nominations for the fourth annual Market Van Buren Awards, a set of awards reserved for organizations in Cass and Van Buren County that are leading the way toward a stronger local economy.
Market Van Buren says it’s taking nominations from the public through March 1 for the Best New Business of the Year awards. Other awards will be decided by investors and partners.
As for the Best New Business awards, they’re for businesses that opened their doors between January 1 of 2022 and January 1 of 2024 and produce a product or provide a service in Cass or Van Buren County. Market Van Buren says a strong candidate would be a business that exhibits excellence in strategic planning, employee development, community involvement, and customer service.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in June.
Last year, the Best New Business of the Year award for Van Buren County went to Creative Cove of Paw Paw, and there were two awardees for Cass County due to a tie in the judging process. They were The Holden Green Tavern of Cassopolis and Flat Rock Grill of Edwardsburg.
