Set for July 31 is the annual TCC Verizon School Rocks Backpack Giveaway. District Manager of the TCC Verizon store in St. Joseph Chris Bryers tells WSJM News they give out hundreds of backpacks to kids each summer.
“We have four different community events throughout the year where we focus on teachers, kids, and veterans, and this is our most popular one, which happens on July 31,” Bryers said. “Every child that comes, while supplies last, gets a backpack with school supplies.”
Bryers says the event reminds employees they’re part of the community and helps out students seeking supplies for the coming year. The giveaway will be July 31 at the Verizon store on Niles Road in St. Joseph from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone’s welcome to stop by and pick up a bag while supplies last. You can find out more right here.
