Tens of thousands of people are expected to head to the airport and travel during the summer. The unofficial kickoff is this coming Memorial Day weekend. Michigan TSA security director Steve Lorincz says travelers should arrive early and have patience.

“There’s a lot of change going on, stress levels are high at all levels,” Lorincz  said. “Just give yourself plenty of time and make sure you have plenty of time to get down to the gate and enjoy your flight and enjoy your trip.”

Lorincz says people won’t have to show their boarding passes to security agents, but will have to have identification and passport if needed. He also encourages people to apply for TSA pre-check clearance which makes it easier to go through security.
