There are lower water levels on Lake Superior. Physical scientist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says Lake Superior along with Lakes Michigan and Huron had lower water levels in September.

“Across the board, considering where we were a couple of years ago and even last year, all the lakes have really seen some drier conditions overall that have allowed them to now be below the levels from last year and below record highs that we’ve seen previously.”

Apps says Lake Superior is below the seasonal long term average for the first time since 2014. She says it’s all due to seasonal declines and evaporation.
