James E. Griffis, 74, of Bainbridge Township died Saturday, September 18, 2021 at his home.

Services celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, Sept 22, at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Township with Rev. James Dunn officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the North Berrien Military Detail at the cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Jim was born on Dec 10, 1946 in Benton Harbor to James N. and Constance S. Griffis. He graduated from High School and earned an Associates Degree in Political Science. He was a Marine in the USMC during the Vietnam War. He was employed at the Whirlpool Corp for over 20 year. Jim married his wife, Diana, in 1981 and together they have celebrated over 40 years of marriage. He enjoyed golfing and fishing just about everywhere including the lakes around here and the Gulf of Mexico. In his younger years Jim also enjoyed hunting and being a handyman around his home. He was an outgoing individual and loved his family very much.

His family includes his wife, Diana; his children, Amanda (Tony) Anderson of Benton Harbor, Randy (Deb) Frank of Coloma, and Jeremy Frank of Watervliet; his 6 grandchildren; his 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers and 1 sister.
