COVID-19 Numbers Up 4,448 Thursday And Friday

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there have been 4,448 new COVID-19 cases for Thursday and Friday. Those bring the total in the pandemic to 955,640. The state lost 51 people to coronavirus those two days, 28 of which were found in vital records reviews. A total of 20,367 Michiganders have been killed by COVID-19.

In southwest Michigan, Berrien County has 14,791 cases with 283 deaths. Cass County has 5,134 cases with 74 deaths, and Van Buren County has 7,154 cases with 127 people who have died. The state will not update the numbers until Wednesday due to the Labor Day holiday.
