Michigan parents say they are not happy with the education their kids have been getting during the pandemic and they want to know how the schools plan to make up for lost time. Executive director of the Education Trust-Midwest, Amber Arellano, says 85% of parents want to see plans to address learning loss related to COVID-19.

“Things like high dosage tutoring and optional free summer school over the next 3 years that that we know based on what research at what parents say would be so, so helpful to help their kids catch up if they have fallen behind.”

Almost half of parents said their children’s education has worsened since the pandemic began and have received little or no information from their schools on how it will be addressed.
