Obituary for Leslie Richmond

Leslie Richmond, 90, of St. Joseph Township went to his Home Coming with his Savior on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Services celebrating his life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Memorial Park. The visitation will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Fairplain Chapel. Please share messages, memorials, or photos at www.florin.net.

Leslie was born on February 2, 1930 in Osceola, AR to Willis and Katie Richmond. He married his wife, Bernice Jones, and she preceded him in death in 1993. Leslie retired from Auto Specialties in St. Joseph after 26 years of employment. Leslie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1946 and he reconfirmed his belief on September 21, 2020. He enjoyed watching TV and his favorite shows were Westerns and Game Shows. Leslie’s favorite sport was baseball and his team was the Chicago Cubs. He was a quiet, soft spoken, and selfless individual who loved spending time with family and friends.

His family includes his children, Bernice “Jean” Pringle-Walker, Alice (James) Sherrill, Patty (George) Richmond-Jenkins, Barbara Richmond, Roshanda Richmond, Gary Richmond, Steve (Lenora) Richmond, Aaron Richmond, all of Benton Harbor, Sherrie Richmond of Dowagiac, and Ricky (Irene) Richmond of Warner-Robin, GA; his siblings, Willis “Bubba” Richmond, Bobbie (Regina) Richmond, John (Minnie) Richmond, all of Benton Harbor, Melvin (Louise) Richmond, Rev. Curtis (Carolyn) Pointer, both of AR and Betty Fleming of IL; his 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his 4 brothers and 3 sisters, his daughter, Shirley, and his 2 grandsons, Ryan and Lonzell.
