Making an appearance in Detroit on behalf of House Democratic candidates, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is again weighing in on last week’s revelations of a plot to kidnap and possibly kill her. 13 people have been charged. The governor is reiterating that she believes rhetoric from the President and others have stirred things up in this country.

“These are groups that used to be a hidden in the shadows on the fringe who are now very comfortable being open about their violent threats,” says Whitmer. “I think it’s incumbent on everyone with a platform to call it what it is. These are domestic terrorists that are intimidating and threatening their fellow Americans.”

Whitmer says she was unaware of the full plans.

“We didn’t have any impact in terms of our schedule so I was briefed by the state police based on the allegations that were surrounding me. I was not aware of other aspects to what the the plot was all about.”

President Trump’s press secretary put out a statement saying it was Whitmer who is sowing division with outlandish allegations.
