Six people are charged with conspiring to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer from her vacation home prior to the election. Attorney General Dana Nessel says the investigation resulted in raids statewide.

“Our efforts uncovered elaborate plans to endanger the lives of law enforcement officers, government officials, and the broader public. The multi-front operation to apprehend the suspects in question was carefully coordinated and skillfully executed without casualties.”

U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge says five are from Michigan and one is from Delaware.

“Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta conspired to kidnap the governor from her vacation home in the western district of Michigan before the November election,” said Birge.

Nessel says state charges are also in place against seven people for threatening and planning a civil war and threatening officials.
