Governor Gretchen Whitmer says it’s outrageous that some are politicizing the fight against the coronavirus. As an impeachment effort has gained support from a few state lawmakers, Whitmer told Michigan News Network she has taken actions similar to her colleagues across the country and she won’t go into politics when making decisions that will save lives.

“All of these political attacks on my power, all of these political attacks on the powers of the executive office are incredibly dangerous, and of course I’m going to continue to do what I have done and make decisions around science and saving lives. I’m not going to be bullied, I’m not going to be threatened, and I’m not going into the politics as I make decisions.”

Whitmer says she’ll continue to do what she’s done to save lives. Impeach Gretchen Whitmer Chairman Brandon Hall announced his effort to push for an impeachment inquiry this week. He called Whitmer a “ruthless tyrant,” adding some state lawmakers support his efforts.
