The Michigan Secretary of State’s Mobile Branch Office will be in South Haven this week registering people to vote in the March 10 primary election. The office offers most of the services available at a regular branch office. Therefore, in addition to registering to vote, visitors can renew or replace their license plate, renew their driver’s license or state ID, change their address, and sign up on the Michigan Organ Donor Registry, among other things. The Mobile Branch Office will be parked outside of the South Haven Memorial Library on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those who stop by the mobile office can also learn about REAL IDs and how to sign up for one. Starting October 1 of this year, you will need a REAL ID to fly within the United States and enter certain federal facilities, military bases, and nuclear power plants.
