The floods that devastated parts of southwest Michigan two years ago are still being felt in some parts of Berrien County. The city of Niles has not yet been able to reopen Island Park because of damage done to the Island Park Pedestrian Bridge, but the hope is that will soon change. On Monday, the city council gave the green light to repair the bridge according to our newsgathering partners at WSBT-22. The fix will cost the city roughly $80,000. It’s not yet known, however, when the park will be open again.
