A crash involving a livestock truck closed down a Napier Avenue ramp at westbound I-94 Wednesday morning. The crash happened after 9 a.m. and the scene was cleared shortly before 1 p.m. At one point, police closed the bridge to traffic. The truck had been turning off I-94 and on to Napier when it tipped over on to its side. It was hauling about 130 pigs, some of which were killed in the crash. The Benton Township Police Department worked the scene, and Berrien County Animal Control was brought in to pick up some of the pigs. We’ll have more information on the crash as it’s released by Benton Township police.
