It’s The Terror, a 2018 AMC series that is based on the true story of the disastrous Franklin expedition. The Franklin expedition was a British operation that departed in 1845 to look for a northwest passage through northern Canada. Of more than 120 men aboard the expedition’s two ships, there were no survivors.
To this day, clues are still being found around northern Canada regarding what happened to the expedition. The Terror attempts to explain some of this while mixing in some supernatural fiction.
