Vail Rubber’s expansion into Royalton Township is moving ahead. The township board has approved the creation of an Industrial Development District and granted the St. Joseph company a 12-year tax abatement for its new building that will be built at the southwest corner of Glenlord and Hollywood. Construction will start next month and be done in March 2020. Vail Rubber Works expects to create at least 10 new jobs with the expansion. The company was founded in 1892 to make rubber railroad ties, and had adapted ever since.
