A Portage man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup in Van Buren County on Monday morning. The sheriffs department says that it happened at the intersection of Red Arrow Highway and County Road 681, in Lawrence Township, shortly after eleven AM. Sheriffs deputies at the scene learned that a Triumph motorcycle had been eastbound on Red Arrow when the 59 year old driver crashed into a westbound Chevy Silverado as it was turning south on to County Road 681. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and police say the driver of the truck, a 43 year old woman from Texas, was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
