A Benton Harbor man charged in the murder of a 17-year-old in Benton Township last year has been found guilty. The Berrien County Prosecutor’s office says it took the jury about an hour to come back with the verdict against Anthony Walker on Thursday. Walker is accused of fatally shooting Karlos Kelly near the Blossom Acres apartments on October 25 over a dispute about a bet. Two other men, 19-year-old Daquantaries Williams and 18-year-old Seddrick Williams, have already pleaded guilty in the case. According to testimony from Seddrick Williams, Walker shot Kelly after the brother of Daquantaries Williams called to say Kelly was about to jump him. Daquantaries Williams was sentenced in February to 25 to 60 years in prison, while Seddrick Williams has not been sentenced. Walker’s trial started Tuesday. He was found guilty of first degree murder and felony firearm. The sentencing date is not yet available, but Walker faces life in prison with no chance of parole.
