
Donna Jean Imler, 83, of Coloma, passed away, Thursday, April 23, 2026, after a long illness.
Cremation has taken place and Donna’s family will be holding a private Celebration of Life Service. Arrangements were entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel. Donna was born August 30, 1942, in Benton Harbor, to Nicholas and Louise Marie (Elias) Pool. She was known, from a young age, for her intelligence, curiosity and spirit which, she carried throughout her life. Donna found joy in dancing, socializing, and forming lasting friendships.
During high school, she fell in love with and married Edward Parmer. Together, they raised five children – Eddie, Tracy, Chris, Lynn, and Curtis – who were the center of her world. Donna will be remembered as a devoted and creative mother who made every holiday magical through her handcrafted gifts and beautiful window displays. She was a talented painter and artist whose creativity touched many.
After raising her children, Donna began working for the Benton Harbor Public School System, where she dedicated many years before retiring. Following Edward’s passing, she later married Delmar Imler. Through this union, she lovingly welcomed five stepchildren – Clint, Didi, Mike, Donna, and Amanda – into her life as her own. Together, Donna and Delmar Shared many happy years, enjoying friendly rivalry between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs, cherishing their growing family of grandchildren, and attending First General Baptist Church in Coloma.
Donna was preceded in death by her son – Eddie; stepson – Clint; grandchildren – Tonya, Toshiro and Barbara; parents, Nicholas and Louise Pool; husbands – Edward Parmer and Delmar Imler ; and brother – Nick Pool.
She is survived by her children – Lynn (Dan) Schmidt, Curtis (Marie) Parmer, Chris Parmer, and Tracy Parmer; her stepchildren – Didi (Gerry) Scheuchner, Mike (Ginger) Imler, Donna (Evans) Costner, and Amanda (Jimmy) Ratliff; siblings – Della (Jerry), Connie, and Tom; several grandchildren; many great – grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, who loved her deeply.
Donna will be dearly and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
