Glena Joan Rodgers, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Niles, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.
Glena was born on May 19, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Glen John Knapp and Ardel Dorothy (Evans) Knapp.
Along with her parents, Glena was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Corwin.
Left to cherish the memory of Glena is her loving husband of many years, Thomas E. Rodgers; son, Michael Asmus; grandson, Travis Asmus; great grandson, Isaac Asmus; siblings, Brenda Hyatt and Dana Knapp, and many nephew and nieces.
Glena lived life with a kind of energy that made everything around her feel a little brighter. She was adventurous at heart, always ready to try something new or dive into whatever the day might bring. Whether it was bicycling through town, lining up a perfect shot at the bowling alley, or jumping into a new sport, she brought both enthusiasm and a competitive spirit that made it clear—she was in it to win it, but she was also in it for the joy.
She had a creative eye and a gift for making spaces feel like home. Decorating and interior design weren’t just hobbies for her—they were expressions of who she was. That same creativity carried into her woodworking and house painting, where she worked with her hands to build and transform, leaving her personal touch wherever she went.
Glena loved horses, the quiet strength and freedom they represented matching something deep within her. She loved to travel, to see new places and experience the world beyond her doorstep. But she was just as happy in simple moments—sharing laughter, making memories, and, of course, enjoying her popcorn.
More than anything, Glena loved people. She was fun, spontaneous, and always ready to say “yes” to an adventure, big or small. Her presence made others feel welcome, included, and alive.
Above all else, her greatest love was her husband, Tom. Their bond was the center of her world, and it was clear to everyone who knew her just how deeply she cared for him.
Glena will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her creativity, her strength, and the way she embraced life fully and without hesitation. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a reminder to say yes to life whenever you can.
