Sue Ann Mansfield, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana surrounded by her loving family.
Sue was born on December 19, 1948 in Niles, Michigan to the late Calvin Jones and Freda (Christman) Jones.
Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Christian Mansfield.
Left to cherish the memory of Sue are her daughters, Aimee (James) McIntyre and Ginger (Richard) McIntyre; grandchildren, Calee Irby, JJ McIntyre, and Cortez Price; great grandchildren, Tristen and Quincy; brother, Rock Jones, and several nieces and nephews.
Sue will be remembered as someone who embraced life’s simple joys and shared them generously with the people around her. She loved spending time on the golf course, where she found both relaxation and friendly competition. Some of her happiest moments were spent with her grandkids, nieces, and nephews, who meant the world to her and brought endless pride and laughter into her life.
Music was always close to Sue’s heart, and it was often the soundtrack to gatherings, road trips, and quiet moments alike. She was deeply dedicated to her work at the University of Notre Dame, where she took great pride in being part of the campus community. Outside of work, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Fighting Irish and loved attending Notre Dame sporting events.
Each year, Sue looked forward to her annual trips to St. Ignace, a place that held special meaning for her. Those trips brought relaxation, beautiful scenery, and cherished memories that she carried with her throughout the year.
Sue’s warmth, enthusiasm for life, and devotion to her family and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Visitation for Sue will be on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with a Memorial Service to be held at 3:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St. Niles, Michigan 49120.
