A major exhibit is underway at Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, and just in time for Spring Break.
“Butterflies are Blooming” is a popular exhibit every year, according to the garden’s John VanderHaagen.
“Throughout the course of the exhibition, we’ll have about 7,000 butterflies total,” VanderHaagen said. “They come to us from all around the world. So Africa, Asia, Central America, South America, we’re getting in about 1,250 different chrysalids every week.”
VanderHaagen says there are also some events scheduled, along with the butterflies. Butterfly Photography, Spring Nights Bourbon and Butterflies, and Butterfly Ballet are all planned.
