
Tamara Lynne Heuermann, 65, of Coloma, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at her residence following an extended illness.
A celebration of Tamara’s life will be planned at a later date when the weather warms up. Cremation has taken place.
Tamara was born on December 7, 1960 in Watervliet, Michigan to Albert and Frances Gearing and was one of four children. She and her future husband David Heuermann, were high school sweethearts at Coloma High School and were married on June 24, 1978. The young couple lived on a produce farm where they raised their daughter Hannah. Farming was Tamara’s passion and she enjoyed raising and eventually taking the farm’s bounty to the Benton Harbor Fruit Market. Her second and equally as important passion was her family. She loved being a mother to Hannah and later, a grandmother to her two granddaughters.
Tamara is survived by her daughter Hannah Chapin of Coloma; her two brothers, Butch (Char) Gearing of Decatur and Bob (Ruth) Gearing of Watervliet; brothers-in-law Rob (Julie) Heuermann of Richland, MI and Rich (Elizabeth) Heuermann of Brighton, MI; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Jeff) Landry of Kalamazoo and Susan (Mike) Borr of Tennessee and her granddaughters Abigail Schmidt and Delilah Heuermann.
She was preceded in death by her husband David in 2020; her sister Beverly Sotnyk and her brother-in-law Jerry Sotnyk.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home, Coloma.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
