Thomas Edward Shultz, of Niles, Michigan, passed away on January 18, 2026, in St. Joe, Michigan, at the age of 61. Born on May 17, 1964, in Sturgis, Michigan, Thomas grew up in a closely-knit community where he formed lifelong friendships and core values that would guide him throughout his life.

A devout and an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Niles, Michigan, Thomas dedicated much of his life to his faith. He dutifully became an Elder, where he found profound joy and purpose in guiding and uplifting the congregation. His commitment to his beliefs was evident not only in his words but in his actions, as he always strived to exemplify the principles he held dear.

Thomas’s professional life was marked by the same level of devotion he showed in his spiritual pursuits. He worked for many years as a repairman and in construction. Thomas was known for being the first to offer a helping hand. He approached life with a builder’s spirit, whether constructing tangible projects or fostering the growth and development of those around him.

He was a beloved husband to Connie (Stambaugh) Shultz, whom he wed on June 28, 186, in Sturgis, Michigan, and a cherished father to his three children, Jaycyn (Monica) Shultz, Jeff Shultz, and Alexis Shultz. He instilled in them the importance of kindness, humor, and resilience. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he reveled in the opportunity to influence and dote on his grandchildren, Alanna, Ashton, and Tybiah.

Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, joined by his siblings Paul (Sheryl) Shultz, Becky Smith, Deborah Shultz, Lois (Mark) Pavel, Esther Shultz, and Mary (Greg) Chamberlain. His parents, Allen Shultz and Regate (Hensman) Shultz, and his sister Ruth Shultz, preceded him in death.

Passionate about the Miami Dolphins, Thomas rarely missed a game and often shared this enthusiasm with his loved ones. Known for his love of building things, he turned every project into an opportunity for connection, teaching and working alongside family and friends. His love for card games was more than just a pastime; it was an expression of his desire for camaraderie and friendly competition.
