A new exterior lighting system has been installed at the historic Scott Club building in South Haven to honor longtime supporter Carole Hodgman.

The club says the Hodgman family contributed to the project to remember Carole, who died back in March.

The new system can light up the 132-year-old building at 652 Phoenix Street in multiple colors, including holiday colors. That’s just what the Scott Club has been doing this month since unveiling the lights at a ceremony on December 20. It says there are many color combinations that will be used throughout the year to provide added awareness to the landmark Scott Club building designed by John Cornelius Randall.

Founded in 1883, originally as a reading circle, the South Haven Scott Club has more than 110 members. Its mission is to foster inclusive community engagement. It’s named the Scott Cub for Sir Walter Scott, a Scottish writer.
