A poll shows parents are in support of laws that crack down on illegal vapes.

73% of parents agree that stores selling illegal vapes pose security concerns in their community and it’s hard to get around them or even know what you’re buying is legal or not. Rich Marianos is a retired assistant director of the ATF and part of the Tobacco Law Enforcement Network.

These products are targeting everyone that’s on social media right now,” Marianos said. “They’re targeting our children. They’re targeting our community members. They’re presenting that these vapes, these Chinese criminal vapes are safe, which they’re not. The only ones that are regulated are those on the FDA list. Every one of the other products is illegal.”

Marianos says the contraband flooding in from China is giving them a huge payday while harming teens here in the United States. He adds the feds are already working to stop this, but more is needed on the local and state levels for enforcement.
