Michael was a man whose life was defined by music, service, and a heart full of generosity. A gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist, he found joy in every note he played and every song he shared. Music was not only his passion—it was his way of connecting with others, lifting spirits, and bringing people together.
One of Michael’s greatest yearly joys was attending the National Quartet Convention, a tradition he cherished and anticipated with enthusiasm. Surrounded by harmonies, friends, and the atmosphere he loved most, he felt completely at home.
For more than twenty years, Michael dedicated himself to South Haven Public Schools, serving in a variety of roles that showcased his reliability, creativity, and quiet strength. He was most often found in the sound booth, ensuring that school plays, concerts, and events ran smoothly. His steady presence behind the scenes made countless memories possible for students, staff, and families alike.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Donna, and his daughter, Amber, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his sisters: Kathy (George Vellema) and Karen (Dale Webster), each of whom held a special place in his heart. Michael treasured his family deeply, including his beloved cousin David and his many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Michael was preceded by his parents, Leland Gail Springer and Kathryn Aileen Springer and his two sisters, Brenda and Kathleen Springer.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Michael’s legacy lives on in the music he shared, the memories he created, and the love he poured into his family, friends, and community.
A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the South Haven High School’s Listiak Auditorium with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Dunn officiating.
