Patricia Ann O’Connor, 77, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Niles, Michigan.

Pat was born on June 4, 1948 in Woodbridge, New Jersey to the late Joseph George Chaney and Beatrice Ann (Tarnick) Chaney.

Along with her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband of 20 years, Michael Thomas O’Connor.

Left to cherish the memory of Pat are her brothers, Christopher Chaney and his spouse, Catherine Chaney, and Tim Chaney; niece; Jessalyn Chaney, and nephews, Matthew Chaney and Benjamin Chaney.

Pat’s journey began with a passionate commitment to education, achieving a Master’s Degree in Education, and blossoming into a career that touched the lives of countless students.

On April 8, 2003, Pat’s heart was joined in matrimony to Michael T. O’Connor in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was a harmonious blend of love and partnership lasting two beautiful decades until Michael’s passing in 2024.

Pat’s spiritual path was deep and fulfilling. A certified Reiki master, Pat found joy in the practice of healing and the tranquility it brought to both self and others. This commitment to spiritual well-being was a guiding force in Pat’s life, infusing every interaction with kindness and compassion.

A connoisseur of the fine arts, Pat reveled in the rhythms of music and the strokes of art, finding beauty and solace in the creative expressions of the human spirit. The mysteries of the world captivated Pat’s inquisitive mind, engaging in lively discussions.

Pat’s legacy is one of perpetual curiosity, unwavering love, and an enduring quest for knowledge and spiritual growth. As we remember Pat, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many others. The lessons taught, the comfort provided, and the beauty shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to walk alongside Pat in this adventure of life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Pat may be made out to the donor’s choice.

Visitation for Pat will be on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a Memorial Service to be held at 1:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St.

Niles, Michigan 49120. Pat will be privately laid to rest with her husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
