Carolyn E. Reddick, a cherished pillar of her family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 17, 1950, in Michigan City, Indiana, Carolyn’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Carolyn brought warmth and kindness into every room she entered. She was born to the late August Sr. and Doris M. (Stingley) Payne and grew up in a lively household alongside her siblings. Though she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Michael, August Jr., and David Payne, her spirit of family and community lives on through her surviving relatives. Carolyn’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her four daughters, Christina (Steve) Timm, Michell Pegan, Kathryn (Marshall) Depriest, and Jennifer Peterson. Her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she relished every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Ronald, Bradford, Elizabeth, Raymond, John and Gilbert Payne as well as two very special friends, Crystal and Carissa McCoy.

Carolyn devoted her life to the noble vocation of homemaking, creating a warm and welcoming space where all felt loved. Her door was always open, her kitchen always buzzing with activity, and her table always set for an extra guest. Her involvement in the community was marked by her unwavering Christian faith, which guided her in all her endeavors. She was a familiar face at her local church, where she not only attended services but also played an active role in various church activities, spreading joy and faith wherever she went.

Those who knew Carolyn will remember her for her exceptional sense of humor. She had a unique ability to find the funny side of any situation, a gift that brought laughter to even the most ordinary of days. Her loving nature was evident in the thoughtful attention she gave to everyone around her, and her famous baked goods were just one of the many ways she expressed her love and care.

Carolyn’s interests were a reflection of her love for life and people. She relished going out to eat, a simple pleasure that for her was less about the food and more about the company and conversation. Visiting with friends and family was her favorite pastime, as she believed in the power of connection and the beauty of shared moments. Playing games was another of Carolyn’s joys, as it brought her loved ones together in laughter and friendly competition. Her baking was not just a hobby but a way to share her love.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Carolyn’s life at Calvary Tabernacle at 606 N. Elm Street in Three Oaks on November 17, 2025 at 4p.m. with Pastor Carl Adams officiating.

Carolyn E. Reddick lived a life marked by an unassuming grace, a generous heart, and an infectious joy. She was the embodiment of what it means to be funny, loving, and thoughtful. Her memory will be treasured, and her absence deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know and love her. Carolyn’s journey on this earth has ended, but her spirit and the memories she created will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends for generations to come.
