Lakeshore turned in its best effort of the season Friday night, rolling past Battle Creek Lakeview 56–14 at Al Stockman Stadium. Quarterback Kaden Griffiths put on a show, rushing for 240 yards and five touchdowns while also throwing a 46-yard scoring strike to Jonah Chavez. Chavez added 135 rushing yards, including an 89-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that helped the Lancers jump out to a 14–0 lead. By halftime, Lakeshore had built a commanding 35–14 advantage, capitalizing on big plays and efficient execution on both sides of the ball.
The Lancers’ offense was nearly unstoppable, piling up 487 total yards on just 27 plays, averaging an incredible 18 yards per snap. Griffiths and Chavez led a ground attack that produced 405 rushing yards, while the defense limited Lakeview to only one touchdown after the opening quarter. Drew Scholton went 8-for-8 on extra points and added a sack, a forced fumble, and 13 tackles, while Derek Petzke anchored the defense with 16 tackles.
The win moves Lakeshore to 2–5 on the season and gives the Lancers some needed momentum heading into Week 8. Next Friday, they’ll travel to Gull Lake to face the Blue Devils — a game you can hear live on 97.5 The Lake.
