Larry was born on May 29, 1962, in Niles, Michigan, to Larry Sr. and Charlotte (Gersonde) Richter. He graduated from Galien High School in 1980.

From a young age, Larry developed a strong work ethic and a love for farming. At just nine years old, he began helping his dad on the family farm—learning to drive equipment, tend to the fields, and care for the land. Farming became not just his work, but his lifelong passion. Alongside farming, Larry spent nearly 25 years as a truck driver before retiring and returning full-time to what he loved most—working the fields. Larry was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, always giving 110% in everything he did. He never cut corners and always took pride in a job well done.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending weekends at local raceways cheering on his friends. He also loved hunting, target shooting, and betting on football games with those close to him.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the close-knit community that became like family over the years. Larry’s legacy of hard work, loyalty, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his mom, Charlotte; children, Larry Richter III and LaKosta (Terry) Richter both of Galien; grandchildren, Chasity (Daniel) Frame, Faith Richter, and Damien (Marissa) Smith; great-grandchildren, Ryan Richter and Ashton Smith; brothers, Brian Richter and Craig (Judy) Richter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Sr. “Big Larry”; son, Robert Hollingsworth; and sister-in-law, Dawn Richter.
