Virginia Marie “Ginny” Richey, 79, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in the comfort of her family’s presence.
Her life began March 26, 1946 in East Liverpool, Ohio the fourth of eight children born to Chester and Helen Cline. She married Gary Lynn Richey July 22, 1968 in Gorham, Maine.
Ginny cherished her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, especially her fried chicken. Cooking and her grandchildren were her world.
Ginny will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Gary Richey of Cassopolis; daughter, Melissa (Kevin) Jenkins of Elkhart, Indiana; sons, Bart (Kristy) Richey of Elkhart, Indiana, Brett (Theresa) Richey of Cassopolis; seven grandchildren, Karvel Anderson of New York, Jesse (Viv) Richey of Omaha, Nebraska, Kain Jenkins, Keyla Jenkins, Kendall (Rylee) Jenkins, Makayla Smith, all of Elkhart, Indiana, Dillon (Chelsea) Richey of Kalamazoo; five great grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Terry (Susan) Cline of Chester, West Virginia, Kim Cline of West Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruthanne Ratkovich; and six brothers, Larry Cline, Buck Cline, Herkie Cline, and Thomas Cline.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. We will then process to Dailey Cemetery for a Graveside Service.
Mrs. Richey will be laid to rest in Dailey Cemetery, Cassopolis.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Ginny be made to Caring Circle Hospice, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
