Walter Robert “Bob” Whitmyer, Jr., 79, of Bridgman, died Friday, August 29, 2025.
His life began July 3, 1946 in Dowagiac, Michigan, born to Walter and Ronni Whitmyer, Sr.
Bob will be remembered as a very devoted family man and friend. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, spending countless hours outdoors where he felt at peace. Bob cherished his time with his family and friends, and nothing brought him greater happiness than being with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his two daughters, Jessica (John) Kubit of Corona, California, Taryn Whitmyer of Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Casey Guinn, Shelby Weidner, Kloey Weidner, Ava Kubit, Carter Kubit; great grandchildren, Alaina, Zayden, Evelyn; sister, Shirley (Glen) Stone of Tennessee; brothers, Melvin “Buddy” (Beverly) Whitmyer of New Hampshire, Dennis Whitmyer of San Diego, California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Whitmyer.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bob’s life Sunday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365, 25751 US 12, Edwardsburg.
Bob will be laid to rest in Reames and Norton Cemetery, Cassopolis.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Walter be made to the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365, 25751 US 12, Edwardsburg, Michigan 49112.
