The Berrien County Health Department is working to help organizations throughout the county provide healthier gathering spaces with the acquisition of 100 air purifiers.

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners on Thursday accepted the donation of the purifiers, valued at more than $365,000, from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Indoor Air Ventilation Program. The equipment will come with 22 sets of filters.

The board’s resolution states the air purifiers will be distributed to organizations like senior centers, based on need, so they can provide healthier air during gatherings.
