Niles Community Schools was once again on lockdown Monday after more threats were made against its buildings.

The school district says police investigated the threats to Ballard Elementary, Niles High School, and Eastside Connections, and found the threats were not credible. However, the district was locked down as a precaution.

The Niles Police Department says the emailed threat came from Nigeria. That information was obtained thanks to cooperation from Google and Michigan State Police.

The police department says the “email threatened acts of violence against several school buildings in the Niles area as well as members of the police department.” Although it’s continuing its investigation, the department says ” we believe the threat of this act being carried out is insignificant.” It also reminds everyone that making threats to schools is a serious crime.

The threats on Monday came after threats to Ballard Elementary on Friday led to the evacuation of that building.
