Edna Volkers, 98, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Friends may visit from 3:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M., Monday January 5, 2024 at the funeral home as well as from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Edna was born January 24, 2024 in St. Joseph, MI to Otto & Hulda (Hettig) Ross. On January 11, 1947 she married Fred Volkers in St. Joseph, MI. Edna was the owner of her own dog grooming business for many years. She was the area president of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as well as president of the area TOPS. Edna enjoyed Bavarian folk dancing with her husband and daughter. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and her many nieces and nephews.
Edna is survived by her daughters Sharee Blazier (David Purcell), Denise Bowman (Mark Parren) and Teresa Kruse (Dave Maciejewski); 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary and 6 siblings.
