Grace Ann Sirk, 86, of Kalamazoo, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her home in Kalamazoo.
She was born September 26, 1937, in La Fountaine, Indiana, the daughter of Leo Futrell and Ellen (Pegg) Futrell.
Her greatest love in life was her family. Grace thanked god for the gift of her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings were especially important to Grace, as she was able to visit with her entire immediate and extended family. She always made the time to attended as many of her grandkids sporting events as she was able to. She and Les included the grandkids in their love for motorcycles. Les would take one of the kids on the bike while Grace would follow in the van. On the way home the grandkids would switch places. In years gone by, Grace and Les enjoyed taking their motorcycle from coast to coast. Grace had a heart of gold and a positive attitude. She was the bright ray of light, finding something positive in every situation.
Grace was united in marriage to Lester Sirk, March 9, 1957, in Wabash, Indiana. Les preceded Grace June 10, 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Burza, grandson, Justin (Bethany) Burza; granddaughter, Brittany (Stephen) Papierz; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Amelia; sister, Margaret Bigger and her brother, Charles (Norma) Futrell.
Grace was preceded in death by her son, John Sirk, sisters, Helen Rhoads and Edna Newman as well as her brother, Leo Futrell, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, January 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A celebration of life will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Chuck Rawsthorne officiating. Interment will follow at Harwick Cemetery, Mattawan. In keeping with Grace’s bright and positive personality, those who wish to attend services are encouraged to wear bright colors.
