Karey Ray Greene, 63, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 in St. Joseph. He was born March 3, 1960, in Michigan City, IN to Raymond C. and Mary R. Greene (Brown).
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 5-6pm and a celebration of life service will be held at 6pm, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be given to the Berrien County Cancer Service, www.berriencommunity.org or to Habitat for Humanity, www.harborhabitat.org.
Karey graduated from River Valley High School in Three Oaks, MI in 1978. He then attended Western Michigan University and ultimately graduated from DeVry University in Chicago with a degree in engineering. He went on to receive a bachelor of science in business administration from Sienna Heights University. Karey worked in the nuclear industry beginning in 1984 until his retirement in 2022. In his spare time, Karey loved traveling, spending time with his family, and going to the beach. He also thoroughly enjoyed working on home improvement and DIY projects. Karey was truly a problem-solver who was often the first to volunteer for difficult work-related tasks.
Karey is survived by his wife of 33 years, Juanita (Morrow) Greene, whom he married on January 6, 1990 in St. Joseph; his children, Nicholas Greene, and Samantha (Trace) Schewe; his grandchildren, Malcolm, Sadie, and Zoey Schewe, and Nicholas, Jr., Joseph, Jacob, Jeremiah, and Lotus Greene; his siblings, Shawn (Edna) Greene, Kevin Greene, and Lori (Gary) Hanlin; and his niece, Erin Hanlin. He is preceded in death by his parents.
