The behavior of visitors to a city owned beach in Saint Joseph located between Lions Park Beach and Silver Beach is drawing some complaints from residents. At this week’s city commission meeting, members of the public complained about illegal parking in the area, people bringing alcohol to the beach, and even public urination. Mayor Mike Garey said that it’s perhaps time for the city to have a plan for keeping order there, as the beach gets more well known.

Public Safety Director Mark Clapp asked folks who see violations of city ordinances at that beach to report them. He said it can be difficult to get officers to check the beach on a regular basis, due to its location and staffing levels.
