After nearly a year, police have provided an update on a shooting that injured two area residents.
According to Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety Deputy Director Michael Clark, investigators have arrested and arraigned Kylen Jenkins in the Dec. 2021 shooting of a three-month old girl and 20-year old woman at River Terrace Apartments in Benton Harbor.
Jenkins is accused of shooting into the apartment building, striking the victims. He has been charged with three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, two counts of Discharge at a Building Causing Injury, six counts of Felony Firearms and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Jenkins was arraigned on Nov. 10, according to Clark.
Both victims were treated and released from the hospital following the shooting. It was unknown if the they were the intended targets of the gunfire.
